Instructions

Hand wash preferably, or machine wash, cold or lukewarm (less than 30 degrees celsius) gentle cycle, avoid spinning

Wash dark colors separately.

Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or dryer sheets.

Dry flat preferably, away from sunlight & heat; or tumble dry very low heat (less than 30 degrees celsius).

Do not iron, steam, or dry clean.

Silk Care Tips

Use a pH neutral, gentle detergent, for washing silk garments & accessories. If you are in an area that has hard tapwater, pre-soften it before the wash.

Keep the wash temperature low – below 30 degrees Celsius. Knitted silk can shrink up to 10% if hot washed.

Do not wash silk with chlorine bleach – it could damage the natural fibers

If you do use a washing machine to wash your silk garments and accessories, always contain them inside a mesh laundry bag for the duration of the wash.

Ideally, dry the silk garments & accessories flat on a towel, in the shade

If you do wish to use a spin cycle to dry your garments and accessories, use a white towel to gently press excess water from the garment before using the spin cycle, and use a short, low speed spin speed, well under 400rpm. These steps will help minimize the risk of stretching the fabric during the spin cycle.

Never tumble dry the garments & accessories with heat above 30 degrees celsius. Heat can cause shrinking, & damage the fabric. Knitted silk can shrink up to 10% if hot dried.

Avoid drying silk in direct sunlight – prolonged exposure to sun can cause it to fade or discolor, and it may cause damage to the silk fibre.

Avoid placing silk on drying rack’s that have dyes & finishes which can leave stains.

Avoid all contact of silk with velcro (and similar hook & loop tape systems), sharp edges of fingernails, and the like.

Substances containing alcohol, including perfume and hair spray can damage silk – ensure such substances are fully dry before dressing with silk garments.

Silk, like many fabrics, can be damaged by acidic substances, strong alkalis, and salts (such as sea or table salt). If the silk comes into contact with these substances, wash it in fresh water at the earliest opportunity to minimise damage.

If you are travelling, hang the dry garment after you unpack, and minor wrinkles should disappear overnight.
